All Series 1 Fixed-head Coupes have this panel right behind the seats, this one was fabricated for an early LHD flat-floor coupe in Germany by special request.
A new Parcel Tray support panel that mounts behind the seats in Series 1 E-Type Coupes. This panel was unavailable from ANY source. We fabricated this piece for a '61 flat-floor Coupe in Germany. It was formed from a slightly thicker gauge of steel to avoid the common bowing seen in the original panel above...
The panel was based off an original that we pulled out of one of our "donor shells" - a straight but rusty '66 FHC. Aside from being uprated to 18-gauge, it is identical to the original in every way.
The design of the original panel is almost diabolical! If the spot-welded tab was redesigned just a little, I could have made this much more quickly with long, straight cuts on the shear. However, with the way this tab curves up, cutting that top edge was alot tougher. I briefly considered making it the easier way, but that's not the way we do things here - we do it one way - perfect.
