Recently I ran across a couple of things that were too good not to share with you…
The first was a set of photos that were texted to me from a gentleman in Florida of a couple of “rough” bonnets… I can say without a doubt that thee two bonnets are THE WORST I have ever seen! Actually, while it is a crying shame to see E-Types end up this way, the photos are kind of cool – with a perfect depiction of the tropical environment that cause this destruction! Check out the hanging moss, the ferns, and even the citrus tress in the background!
The second was a Jag that I saw up at the shipper in Elizabeth, NJ when I went up there to drop off the Series 2 FHC that we sold this past Fall. I could see that it was a Jag of some kind, but didn’t put alot of thought into it. I asked the guy there who helped me unload, “What is that, a Mark V or something?…”
“No idea – I hate Jags…”
And as I could see he didn’t care if I got up close and took a few photos, I did wander over with him while making small talk… And I actually said right out loud as I got closer – “Oh My God, it’s a 150!…”
Yes – an XK-150 Drophead – that was being held together SOLELY by the driveshaft – and YES – the solid frame was COMPLETELY rusted in half!
Now THAT’S RUST!!!!
