Hey Guys – I’ve posted photos of “The E-Type barn” before, but it’s just so COOL that I can’t resist giving you another peek! I head up here about once a year to grab parts and visit with the owner of this stuff – he is a lifelong E-Type enthusiast and a good friend!
I always seem to head up here around the holidays – this trip was about a week ago, and the Christmas music was just starting to show up on the radio. And so I was just driving along, singing along, and having fun routing around through TONS of E-Type junk – what a fun day!

-
This is an ORIGINAL, FACTORY, FIBERGLASS OTS top panel! Very rare, and I wouldn’t have believed it, but this barn had not just one, but TWO cars with this piece!
-
-
You could tell just by looking at it that this was the real deal, and an original piece. Fascinating!
-
-
Used bonnet flanges – these were impossible to get before we started making them, and this enthusiast has carefully saved and sorted every one he’s run across over the past 40 years.
-
-
Windshield chrome trim for every Series and model E-type imaginable!
-
-
Lots of little bits too!
-
-
This room was full of frame rails and interior pieces.
-
-
Everything is neatly sorted, but not TOO neat… It’s kind of like an indoor E-Type junkyard – it’s GREAT!
-
-
E-Type parts and pieces everywhere! – except for that top frame in the foreground – I think that might be Mercedes 190-SL – the owner has a few of those too!
-
-
Fuel tanks…
-
-
It looks like there are some “donor” frame rails here!
-
-
A series 1 coupe cowl and bulkhead.
-
-
Bonnet carriers in various states of repair…
-
-
E-Type driveshafts – sorry – propellor shafts, that is!
-
-
A Series 1 OTS project ready for a new home…
-
-
And another one just like it!
-
-
This shot shows an early fuel bowl lid on the right with the priming hole, and the later model without on the left.
-
-
Series 1 FHC windshields.
-
-
Later style windscreen bottles.
-
-
OTS A-pillar chrome – “hockey sticks” – and license surround chrome too!
-
-
E-Types everywhere!
-
-
What’s this?…
-
-
A very early coupe! 1961 – within the first 300 built! She’s been neglected for a LONG time, but is about 98% complete!
-
-
The early style – and VERY rare – jack.
-
-
This is yet ANOTHER barn – packed full of E-Type projects!
-
-
The 1961 radio console – all original, and LOOK – the speaker grills are only for show, and the actual speaker is in the bottom of the receiver itself!
-
-
The very early style FHC rear turn lamp – actually, the entire roof, rear wings, and rear lowrer tonneau are different on the early coupes! You’ll see this differences soon as we rebuild the shell of LHD coupe #43 this Winter!
-
-
Honestly, this is more beautiful to me that a concours example – oh what stories this old girl could probably tell!
-
-
And we’ll finish up with another photo of another fiberglass OTS top panel – the existence of these in fibergalss blew my mind – 30 years and there are still things to learn about these cars!
