Several shells and bonnets are close to finished, or finshed and still here, plus new shells have come in, and it’s just getting crazy around here.
Recently, we rented some space in a nearby warehouse where we can keep some of the shop-owned shells “high and dry” – literally! We also started moving out some of the parts supply on pallets (which is my new thing – pallets are GREAT!).
But… No sooner do we clear out space here at the shop, then new stuff just keeps getting stacked in – AAAGGGHHHH!!! I thought you might like to see some recent photos of the insanity…

No – it’s not some type of prototype E-Type 4-door… This is a ’68 2+2 cowl in front of a ’70 OTS shell. These are both rough, but restorable. These pieces are both shop-owned, and so they are headed over to long-term storage.

Next out the door is the ’68 2+2 shell from our customer who is switching over to a Series 1 coupe shell instead.

This is another good, restorable shell that we will eventually find a good home!

Next, it’s off the trailer and onto the forklift. Right about here is where I started falling in love with pallets – they sure do make things easy!

One E-Type, coming UP!

These are our new shelves in a nearby warehouse – it’s convenient, secure, dry, and having them up here means that I won’t be getting any calls about something getting dropped on them, etc.

Next, the doors are out the door! These are the surplus doors currently in stock.

Gently stacked onto a pallet, and then snugged up with a ratchet strap. 99% of the doors that we restore get new skins, and all of these need it, so nothing is going to get damaged here – but we don’t treat finished doors this way of course – they get wrapped in moving blankets and shelved.

Our shelves are starting to fill up – there’s just never enough space! Top shelf is a ’68 coupe and ’68 2+2. Second shelf is a ’70 roadster and a pallet of doors. Bottom shelf is a ’59 Devin shell (with two coupe roofs inside of it), and a cowl from a 1927 Paige-Detroit – that’s a personal project…

This pallet of wings respresents the “second-tier” wings in stock – we left the really nice stuff back at the shop. But everything here is repairable – some requiring more work than others. One thing that was interesting when we bundled these up is that there is at least one of every single style of E-Type wing here – a ’61 welded-flange wing, Series 1, 1.5, 2, and 3 wings are all here. Up against the wall are a few decklids as well.

Here is a shot of the rear of the top shelf – that Series 1.5 2+2 cowl is pretty nice, and at least some part of it will get used for sure.

Here is all the space we cleared up – NONE! They just keep coming! Starting in the back on the left is a ’69 OTS converted over to Series 1 specs – that is just about complete. Next is a ’61 coupe, ’68 roadster, and under that big white center section shipping box is my personal ’63 roadster shell – that’s another work in progress. The red E-Type is a ’70 coupe from New Brunswick – behind it is the new coupe shell for the blue 2+2. Luckily, the ’63 coupe in the foreground and the Series 1 bonnet panels in front of it are headed out!

The upstairs is actually a little more opened up than it used to be. Soon, we are going to have the HVAC system and insulation installed – it’s time to finish off the new shop and get moved in before Winter. And finally getting shelves up here would be REALLY nice too!

I sure do miss these days sometimes!

And this empty upstairs didn’t last long either!
