This post is WAY overdue – This show put on by the local E-Type restoration shop that we work with happened in MAY! Take a look at some of the photos from this years invitational get-together of classic sports cars!
- The day started out with this Ferrari owned by a local gentleman. The car was here last year as well, and is always a favorite!
- There she is – the Ferris Bueller car – not one like it – THE CAR from the movie!
- The Italian section…
- This Alfa was pretty cool – I really liked the color – not the usual color you see these days, but very period!
- This car was very well – and correctly done, and a real beauty!
- This GT-40 replica was built in South Africa – virtually identical to the real thing except for one important upgrade on this hot day – Air Conditioning!
- A modern Ford GT.
- This is a semi-recent offering by Ford that is done in the style of the original.
- This is a cool photo – you can just see the reflection of my bald head above the Webers!
- A modern Alfa.
- This MGB is under restoration. It is a family car, owned by the brother-in-law of the restoration shop owner.
- The car had just returned from the paint shop, and this was the big unveiling!
- OK – NOW we’re getting somewhere – the E-Types!
- This was a great line-up!
- A Series 1.5 FHC.
- A Series 1 4.2 OTS.
- The cockpit!
- This is the ’68 OTS that we had up in the shop about a year ago to build the custom shift linkage for.
- Between us and the other shop, we cleared all of the hurdles to get the Cosworth 5-speed into this E-Type but still maintain every single aspect of the stock interior.
- This is the ’61 OTS that we rebuilt the drive tunnel for last WInter. The all new red interior is on order, but the car was out and about without it on this beautiful day!
- Compare this photo to the same photo in the “Show Time” post from last year – this is a BIG improvement!
- The rocker switches and Automatic transmission give this car away as a Series 2 2+2 – even from this angle!
- Here’s a shot across the bonnet of that same car.
