Just got back from an early Fall weekend at Watkins Glen International Raceway – right at the lower end of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes – of course in Watkins Glen, NY.
I was the guest of Donovan Motorsports, racing their three E-Type roadsters, numbers 61, 62, and 63. If you recall, we completely rebuilt the special aluminum bonnet for their #61 racer – twice – about 5 years ago. It was good to finally see our work in paint and back out on the track!
If you have never gone to the September race, which is an historic reenactment/tribute to the old races that took place right downtown, I must tell you that I HIGHLY recommend it! Not only are the cars themselves historic, but the entire feel of the weekend is like a little trip back in time, and I had an absolute BLAST!
